ƒc John Conyers Jr. is the first to wield the power of the subpoena in the 110th Congress. This is no surprise to me. Since the release of the Downing Street Memo, and subsequent revelations of abuse of power, John Conyers has been the most consistent of all the politicians in trying to confront this loose cannon in the White House.

WASHINGTON - Sen. Pete Domenici and Rep. Heather Wilson of New Mexico pressured the U.S. attorney in their state to speed up indictments in a federal corruption investigation that involved at least one former Democratic state senator, according to two people familiar with the contacts.
